Before and after

On this page we aim to showcase the hardwork and dedication of our plot holders and their work in turning around an abandoned plot and making it into a fantastic productive and pleasant allotment once again.

Plot 27B

I acquired the allotment in August 2015 and set about clearing the site.

Hard work and it made me wonder why I'm still a member of the gym as it kept me fit. I basically split the site into three sections and by the time November came when it was too wet to continue preparing for the spring planting

I'd dug through one section three times another twice and the remainder once. I was pleasantly surprised in the spring that not too many weeds had returned but had to finish as spring brought with it an increase in weed activity.

It was hard juggling planting and clearing but got there in the end. I intend to grow vegetables in the main so I'm waiting to see how I'll get on with potatoes, beans, peas, cabbage, carrots, parsnips etc etc. I have been able to invest the hours as I've retired early and the weather in the main has been favourable.

Even had time to erect a shed with the help of fellow plot holders. So many new friends made and a great place to loose yourself. Keep taking my iPod with me but don't know why as I've never wanted to disturb the peace and quiet.
